Wynyard Golf Club is one of the UK's top golf destinations and a luxury venue for wedding receptions, civil wedding ceremonies, business conferences, social events and dining. We are a licensed venue for Civil Marriages and Civil Partnerships, catering for weddings and functions for up to 120 guests. Wynyard Golf Club also offers conference facilities.
You will be working closely with another Duty Manager to manage the daily operations. You will need to ensure that a high standard of customer service is met at all times and that employees are organised to ensure the set up and running of all functions along with the Clubhouse bar is to a very high standard. You will need to ensure that all staff are given the relevant training to ensure that a high standard is always achieved.
The role will primarily involve:
- Supervising and managing employees of the clubhouse bar and kitchen;
- Contribute to the achievement of profit margins to target levels;
- Reconciling daily takings and locking up the building securely;
- Maintain low wastage levels through effective stock management;

- Manage shifts which involve assisting and guiding staff to deal with issues and complaints and ensuring members’ and guests’ experience exceeds expectations;
- Managing till operation and cashing up;
- Organise rotas to ensure high service levels can be maintained whilst controlling costs;
- Training of bar and catering staff;
- Lead and manage bar and function staff on a daily basis with the ability to communicate daily tasks, taking responsibility for maintaining high standards of quality, health and hygiene;
- Ensure that all company and statutory regulations relating to health & safety and hygiene are adhered to at all times;
- To support colleagues at peak times and to undertake any duties which might be reasonably required to ensure customer expectations are met;
- To undertake any duties as requested by the Management Team in accordance with the scope and responsibilities of the role
Skills/Requirements
- Previous food and beverage management experience is essential;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Computer literate with outstanding organisational skills;
- A keen eye for detail;
- Excellent customer service skills, flexibility and is able to work well under pressure.
This is a full-time position based on 40 hours per week which will include weekends, bank holidays and evenings.
