Enable Access Ltd is a growing British manufacturing business specialising in mobility access and evacuation solutions. Based in Leighton Buzzard, the company designs and manufactures high-quality ramps, steps and accessibility products that help people live and move more independently. The Production Operative role supports the manufacture and assembly of these products, including assembling standard products for stock, while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and efficiency. The role contributes directly to the company’s mission of creating safer and more accessible environments.
Job Purpose
To manufacture and assemble exit chairs, mobility ramps and associated components to a high standard, ensuring products are built accurately, safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble standard products for stock, including emergency evacuation chairs, mobility ramps and associated components, using hand and power tools.
- Follow verbal and written instructions, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures accurately. Training will be provided, but you will be expected to learn and consistently follow the required processes.
- Work productively and consistently on repetitive assembly tasks, maintaining agreed quality and output standards while being dependable and reliable.
- Accurately fit brackets, fixings, bolts, screws and other components, using drills, impact drivers, screwdrivers and other tools safely and effectively.
- Carry out basic quality checks throughout the assembly process, identify and report defects or issues, and minimise errors, rework and product damage.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment, following all health & safety, and company procedures.
- Work effectively as part of a team while also being confident working independently and using initiative when required.
- Support other company, production and warehouse activities as required.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in production, manufacturing, assembly, workshop or a similar practical environment is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.
- Good hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity and a practical, hands-on approach.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools, or willing and able to learn their correct and safe use.
- Good attention to detail with the ability to produce consistent, quality work.
- A logical, practical approach to tasks, with good common sense and the ability to identify and resolve straightforward issues.
- Able to follow instructions accurately and work efficiently on repetitive tasks.
- Physically capable of handling components and finished products as required.

Training & Progression
Full training will be provided to ensure you understand our products, assembly processes, tools and quality standards. You will be expected to follow instructions carefully, learn the required processes and develop confidence and competence in the role. As your skills and experience develop, there will be opportunities for progression and increased responsibility within the production team.
