We are seeking a competent and safety focussed boat technician committed to high standards of workmanship and customer service, able to work independently and as part of a safety focussed team. You will undertake repair, maintenance and refit work on a wide range of vessels up to 24m. The role covers a broad range of marine maintenance disciplines, including basic electrical installation, pumps, lighting, polishing, finishing, fitting marine hardware such as hatch and deck gear installation, seacock replacement and associated plumbing. Tasks will be allocated according to the technician’s skills and experience, while also providing opportunities to develop additional competencies across boat systems and maintenance activities.
Key Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates should be able to demonstrate:
· Experience in a hands-on technical role delivering high quality boat repair and refit work.
· The ability to deliver work to agreed timescales and in line with the approved scope of works.
· Pride in delivering high standards of workmanship.
· Good communication skills and the ability to always be professional and helpful.
· A strong awareness of health and safety, including maintenance of a clean and safe working environment and ability to follow safe working procedures.
· Confidence working outdoors in all weather and undertaking physical tasks.
· RYA Powerboat Level 2 or equivalent qualification is desirable but not essential.
· Relevant plant or lifting equipment certification would be advantageous, although training will be provided where appropriate, including scissor lift and telehandler.
Working Pattern
· Full time, 40 hours per week. Monday to Friday.
