WORK PATTERN Full time (Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days work from home)
LOCATION Woodford, London
SALARY (£28,000 - £31,000) per annum depending on experience
Job Overview
The Liberty Church (TLC) is looking for a fast, prolific and fearlessly creative Graphic Designer to lead on flyer, event and digital asset design across the church. This role is heavily production-focused: you'll be the primary creative hand behind the volume of flyers, event promotions, sermon series artwork and screen graphics that keep our services, events and campaigns visually sharp week in, week out. We want someone who can turn briefs around quickly without losing creative edge - a designer with a genuinely fresh, contemporary eye who pulls inspiration from outside the usual church design playbook (fashion, music, editorial, culture, tech) and uses it to push our visual identity forward. This is not a branding-first role: it's roughly 80% flyer, event and digital design, so we're looking for someone whose portfolio proves they love, and are brilliant at, high-volume flyer work. There is an occupational requirement for the post holder to have a personal commitment to the Christian faith
Key Responsibilities
1. Flyer, Event & Digital Design: Design high volumes of flyers, posters, banners and event promotions for services, sermon series, conferences and church-wide initiatives, with variants created for digital and social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube), often on tight, fast-moving deadlines. Create stage, screen and in-service graphics for live services, events and special occasions. Support digital campaigns, website graphics and email marketing assets, and keep a consistent output of fresh, on-brand assets across concurrent projects without dropping creative quality under volume. Support video content where useful - short-form reels, sermon clips and event highlights (nice-to-have, not a core requirement).
2. Brand & Identity Support: Contribute to sermon series artwork and church-wide communication materials, extending - and elevating - the existing brand system. Help evolve TLC's visual identity over time so it feels current, distinctive and unmistakably ours.
3. Collaborative Projects: Work closely with ministry leaders and the communications team to brainstorm creative concepts that align with TLC's vision and goals. Bring a genuinely fresh creative lens - we want someone who can help us move beyond the conventional 'church flyer' look that has become the default across many churches, and set a new visual standard for TLC. Stay plugged into current design trends outside the faith space and translate them into work that still feels authentic to who we are.
Education / Work Experience Requirements
● Proven experience as a Graphic Designer with a strong, varied portfolio - critically, one that includes substantial flyer and event/promotional design work, not branding or identity work alone. ● Demonstrated ability to produce high volumes of quality creative work at pace, to deadline, without compromising on originality. ● Proficiency in design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); After Effects and Premiere Pro are a plus. ● Strong understanding of branding, colour theory, typography and layout design, with a distinctive, contemporary design sensibility. ● Ability to work collaboratively in a team, take creative direction, and proactively pitch ideas. ● Attention to detail, time management, and ability to work on multiple fast turnaround projects simultaneously.
Pay: £28,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
