We are looking for a Dental Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team on a maternity cover basis, with the potential for a permanent position at the end of the maternity cover period, depending on the needs of the practice.
We would ideally like to hear from qualified Dental Nurses, although trainee Dental Nurses will also be considered.
Full-time hours are preferred, although part-time working may be considered. Due to the requirements of the role, part-time hours would need to be worked as full working days.
Working Hours
- Monday–Thursday: 08:45–17:30
- Friday: 07:45–16:30
Trainee Dental Nurses
We are very happy to consider applicants who are currently training or looking to begin their Dental Nurse training.
If you join us as a trainee, we will support you through your qualification and commit to continuing your employment for the duration of your Dental Nurse training, subject to satisfactory performance and progression, even if your training extends beyond the maternity cover period.
About Us
Carriage Works is a well-established, independent mixed NHS and private dental practice in Lostwithiel. We have a large, friendly multidisciplinary team and provide a wide range of treatments, including general dentistry, implants, orthodontics, endodontics, facial aesthetics and conscious sedation.
The Role
- Chairside assistance across a variety of treatments
- Preparing and maintaining clinical areas
- Following cross-infection and decontamination protocols
- Supporting and reassuring patients
- Maintaining accurate clinical records
- Working closely with clinicians and the wider team
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Dental Nurse preferred – trainees will also be considered
- GDC registered if qualified
- Strong communication and patient-care skills
- Organised, reliable and team-focused
- Confident working in a busy environment
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop

Job Details

Salary
The advertised starting rate reflects that we are open to applications from trainee Dental Nurses.
Pay will depend on qualification, experience and skills. Trainee Dental Nurses will be paid at the applicable National Minimum Wage, with their salary reviewed as they progress through training and on qualification.
Qualified Dental Nurses will be offered a higher rate appropriate to their experience and skills.
