Overview
Join our dedicated education team as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) and play a key role in creating an inclusive, supportive and nurturing learning environment. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored support to students, helping them develop their confidence, independence and engagement with learning.
The role will involve supporting students through ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) and THRIVE approaches, helping learners develop their emotional wellbeing, social skills and ability to manage challenges effectively.
Duties
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with a range of additional needs.
- Support students with their emotional wellbeing, social development and engagement in learning.
- Use ELSA and THRIVE approaches to support emotional regulation and positive relationships.
- Assist teachers with classroom activities and differentiated learning.
- Help students develop confidence, independence and resilience.
- Support students who may experience anxiety, emotional difficulties or challenging behaviour.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with students.
- Assist with behaviour management and de-escalation where required.
- Monitor student progress and communicate relevant information to teaching and pastoral staff.
Experience
- Previous experience working with children or young people in an education, SEN, pastoral or support setting
- Experience supporting students with SEN, SEMH or additional learning needs
- ELSA or THRIVE experience/training would be advantageous.
- A patient, calm and empathetic approach.
- Ability to build positive relationships and establish trust with learners.
- Confidence supporting students with emotional or behavioural difficulties.
- A genuine commitment to supporting students' wellbeing, development and educational progress.

Pay: £19,000.00-£23,000.00 per year
