Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to recipes and standards
- Support the Head Chef and Sous Chefs in daily kitchen operations
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed
- Prepare ingredients and organise workstations for efficient service
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen equipment and work areas
- Contribute to the presentation of dishes, ensuring visual appeal aligns with company standards
- Support meal preparation during busy service periods, working efficiently under pressure
- Follow all health and safety procedures to create a safe working environment for all team members
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen setting
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail during meal preparation and presentation
- Basic understanding of culinary techniques and ingredients
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities during service periods
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards learning and development
