Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Class 2 Truck Driver to join our Plant Hire Depot in Northampton working Monday - Friday, basic hours 07.30 - 16.30, no evenings or Weekends . The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while delivering goods to various locations. This role requires experience in commercial driving, with a focus on flatbed operations. As a Truck Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries of plant machinery and maintaining the highest standards of service. Pay £662.00 per week based on 45 hour standard week, overtime sometimes available plus annual bonus.
Responsibilities
- Operate flatbed lorries safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working order.
- Load and unload plant equipment securely, ensuring that all items are transported safely.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and complete necessary paperwork for each delivery.
- Communicate effectively with depot office and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure the safety of yourself and others on the road.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of commercial driving practices.
- Experience operating flatbed lorries is highly desirable.
- A valid commercial driving licence (CPC) is required.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in transportation.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
