Job Summary
We are looking for outgoing and enthusiastic Bar Tenders to join the happy team running our holiday park's bar. The pub is open to locals as well as customers on holiday at the park.
Duties
- Preparing and serving a variety of drinks, including a range of alcoholic beverages as well as preparing simple cocktails, barista-style coffees and homemade milkshakes.
- Taking food orders on behalf of the restaurant.
- Work closely with our kitchen team to ensure food service goes smoothly. This may include assisting with serving food at times.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, including washing glassware in the dishwasher, cleaning the bar and cellar area, putting the indoor and outdoor furniture back in place at the end of shifts.
- Occasionally assist with setting up the entertainment we provide in our bar. This may include tasks such as setting up screens for sports games or film nights, or helping to host other nights such as calling bingo.
- Helping to make customers feel welcome and doing as much as you can to ensure they enjoy themselves.
- Monitor customer behaviour to promote responsible drinking and adhere to licensing laws.
Skills
- Proven experience as a bar tender or in hospitality in a similar environment.
- Excellent serving skills with a friendly demeanour.
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Effective time management to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- A personable attitude with the ability to connect with diverse clientele.
- Barista experience and experience in hosting events is preferable but not essential.
The wage we are offering is minimum wage for your age group.
Applicants who are local to East Cowes will be prioritised.
You must be able to work full shifts. Our bar is open every day from 9am - midnight, so we have a range of shift times on offer, but we are particularly in need of staff who are able to work morning - early afternoon shifts.
Unfortunately we are unable to hire students who will not be living locally from September onwards. Although our bar and restaurant have only been open over the summer in previous years, we are hoping to put together a team that might be able to keep the bar open for longer this year.
