Support Worker - Gloucester

OptiMatch Solutions is recruiting Support Workers for an established Gloucestershire care provider. Multiple current vacancies are available for people who want to deliver reliable, person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex support needs.
This is shift-based work in Gloucester and the wider Gloucestershire area. Exact hours and rota patterns will be discussed during screening so you can decide whether the role fits your availability.
What you will do
- Provide respectful, person-centred support in people's homes and in the community.
- Promote dignity, choice, independence and inclusion.
- Support daily routines, personal care and food preparation where required.
- Support people to attend appointments and take part in community activities.
- Administer medication after the required training and competency checks.
- Assist with moving and handling after training where this forms part of an individual's support.
- Follow care plans, risk assessments and agreed support approaches.
- Notice and report changes in wellbeing or support needs.
- Keep clear, accurate care records.
- Work reliably as part of a supportive care team.
What you need
- A full UK driving licence. This is essential for the current vacancies.
- Existing lawful permission to work in the UK without sponsorship from the employer.
- The ability to travel reliably to shift locations across Gloucester and Gloucestershire.
- A caring, trustworthy and professional approach.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality and clear communication.
- Willingness to work flexibly within an agreed shift pattern.
- Willingness to complete the required Enhanced DBS and reference checks.
Previous experience in care or support is preferred, particularly experience involving learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, complex needs, personal care, medication or community support. Applicants who can demonstrate the right values and willingness to learn may also be considered.
