What you'll be doing
As a Nursery Room Leader, you'll be responsible for leading the day-to-day running of your room, ensuring the highest standards of care, education and safeguarding are consistently delivered.
You'll:
- Lead and inspire a team of Early Years Practitioners, creating a positive, supportive and collaborative working environment.
- Plan and deliver engaging, child-centred learning experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity and confidence while supporting every child's individual development.
- Take responsibility for the organisation, learning environment and daily routines within your room, ensuring they meet the highest standards.
- Observe, assess and monitor children's progress, using your knowledge of the EYFS to plan meaningful next steps and ensure every child reaches their full potential.
- Act as a key person, building trusting relationships with children and their families and providing regular updates on learning and development.
- Support, coach and mentor colleagues, helping to develop confidence, knowledge and best practice across the team.
- Monitor the quality of practice within your room, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with nursery policies and procedures.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, hygiene and wellbeing remain central to everything you do.
- Work closely with the Nursery Manager and leadership team to maintain outstanding standards across the nursery and contribute to the ongoing development of the setting.
- Foster an inclusive, nurturing environment where every child feels safe, valued and encouraged to thrive.
We're looking for someone who has:
- A full and relevant DfE-approved Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
- Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting, ideally with experience leading or supervising a team.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS, child development and safeguarding.
- Confidence in planning, observations, assessments and supporting children's learning journeys.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- A positive, proactive approach and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding early years education.
- The ability to motivate and support colleagues while building strong relationships with families.
