Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping our daytime team of drivers deliver goods and collect goods. Use of a tail lift is required at times and pallet trucking goods on and off the vehicle.
Hours are 9am - approx 4-6pm finish Monday-Friday. Saturdays are worked on a rota basis 1 IN 3. The Saturday rota is part of the shift please do not apply if you cannot commit to this.
At busy times of the year these hours may vary and additional hours are required flexibility in the role is key.
Responsibilities:-
The job is mainly local deliveries and collections within 30 miles of our Bicker hub and garage shunts for vehicles.
Safely drive and operate a Class 2 lorry to transport goods- Load and unload cargo ensuring its safety and security during transit- Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks- Adhere to all relevant driving laws and regulations- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and vehicle inspections
Experience:- Proven experience as a commercial driver - Valid commercial driving license (CPC qualified)- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record- Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo- Strong organisational and time-management skills to ensure timely deliveries- Good communication skills and customer service orientation
