We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse/Machine Operative to join our manufacturing and logistics team. This role involves operating various machinery, handling materials, and supporting fabrication processes within a dynamic warehouse environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth production flow, maintaining safety standards, and assisting with production and tooling tasks. Duties
- Operate machinery, including T-Drill machines and saws, following safety protocols.
- Handle materials efficiently using appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring accurate inventory management.
- Work to drawings to gain a technical understanding of the manufacturing process
- Utilise hand tools for fabrication, assembly, and maintenance activities.
- Conduct basic maths calculations related to measurements, tolerances, and material quantities.
- Support tooling setup and changeovers to optimise production efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace while adhering to health and safety standards.
- Assist in materials handling, including loading and unloading goods from lorries or storage areas.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse operations or manufacturing environments is desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret drawings is desirable.
- Competence in using hand tools and basic machining equipment.
- Strong understanding of materials handling procedures within a warehouse setting.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail for quality control purposes.
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
- Prior experience with tooling setup or mechanical assembly is advantageous.
