We are a well-established and growing manufacturing company based in Cradley Heath, supplying high-quality products to customers worldwide. Due to increased workload, we are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Clerk to support our finance team on a temporary basis.
Role Overview
This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate processing of invoices, payments, and financial records. This position would suit someone with strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of core accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase invoices and match to purchase orders
- Prepare payment runs and upload payments following approval
- Post payments and receipts onto the accounting system
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
- Handle supplier queries in a professional and timely manner
- Assist with sales ledger tasks, including raising invoices
- Chase overdue payments in line with company procedures
- Update debtor and creditor reports
- Support month-end processes and reporting
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
Requirements
Essential:
- Previous experience in an accounts or finance role
- Working knowledge of accounting systems (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Basic to intermediate Excel skills
Desirable:
- Experience within a manufacturing environment
- AAT qualification (or currently studying)
- Understanding of stock control or cost accounting
Salary & Benefits
- £26,000 – £29,000 FTE (pro rata based on hours)
- Auto-enrolment pension (in line with government regulations)

Hours & Location
- Part-time: 16–25 hours per week (flexible – to be agreed)
- Typical full-time hours:
Mon–Thurs: 8:10am – 12:30pm & 1:00pm – 4:35pm
Friday: 8:10am – 1:30pm
- Based on-site in Cradley Heath (office-based role – no remote working)
Contract Type
6-month fixed-term contract, with potential for extension
