Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Boat Builder's Assistant to support our skilled team in constructing new build narrowboats and wide beams. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in providing hands-on experience in boat building processes. The successful candidate will work under supervision to assist with various tasks involved in boat assembly, ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained throughout the process.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the assembly and fitting of boat components according to specifications and plans
- Support the team in fitting 12V electric tails, 240V plug sockets, light switches, Hep 20 plumbing ring main, plumbing sinks & showers, sanding boats, drilling holes in steel, fitting 12V pumps
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during various stages of boat building
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times during operations
- Assist with the transportation of materials within the workshop or yard via a forklift
Skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge relevant to boat construction processes
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a workshop environment
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks as required
- Strong attention to safety procedures and practices

Pay: £29,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
