As junior sous chef you will work closely with the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef, deputising in their absence and must be willing to support junior members of the kitchen team. Understanding a kitchen environment and flexibility is essential.
You must be a team player as well as a leader on shift ensuring the brigade work together to ensure the day to day operation is a success. Responsibilities will include helping to maximize profit and ensuring cost margins are met in line with budget, whilst ensuring Food Safety and Hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
Ideally you will have:
City & Guilds 7061/2 and/or NVQ Level 3
- sous chef experience or be a senior chef de partie ready for promotion
- Standards orientated, eye for detail, evidence of creative ability
- Ability to keep calm in 'pressure' situations and manage people effectively
- Knowledge and clear understanding of food hygiene legislation
