An established main contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join the team on a 300-unit apartment development in Wolverhampton.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a major residential scheme, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations and ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards. Both freelance and permanent applicants will be considered.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing the daily site activities, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring all works are completed in line with programme and quality expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing day-to-day site operations on a large residential development.
- Coordinating subcontractors and direct labour.
- Driving health & safety standards and ensuring site compliance.
- Monitoring programme and reporting progress to the Project Manager.
- Ensuring works are completed to the highest quality standards.
- Managing site logistics and maintaining a well-organised site.
- Conducting toolbox talks, inductions and site inspections.
- Liaising with commercial, technical and design teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
About You
- Previous experience working as a Site Manager for a main contractor.
- Strong residential experience, ideally on apartment or high-rise developments.
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors and deliver projects safely and efficiently.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications are essential.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a strong eye for quality.
