We are looking to recruit 2 x Band 7 Lead Community Mental Health Practitioners for the South West Team (Godalming) with 1 WTE vacancy and North West Team (Chertsey) with 0.8 WTE. As a lead member of the team, you will provide specialist assessments and interventions to women during the perinatal period up to 12 months postnatal.
Each team works closely with the mental health midwives and obstetricians from the local maternity unit. The SW Team covers Royal Surrey County Hospital and Frimley Park Hospital. The Northwest Team covers St Peter’s Hospital and Kingston Hospital. You will hold a caseload of women for a specified locality.
The post holder will develop strong links with the Parent and Infant Relationship Service (PaIRS), Maternal Mental Health Service (AFLoaT), Health Visiting, Midwifery, Neighbourhood mental health teams, Children’s services and the voluntary sector.
The ability to work across Surrey is essential and a car is required.
- To maintain high standards of care in all areas of practice in accordance with the registered professional body (NMC/HCPC)
- To be involved in triaging of referrals, including appropriate triage screening and assessment within specified timescales across the service.
- To work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team exercising autonomous professional responsibility for managing a clinical caseload independently, providing highly specialist assessments and follow-up for women referred with complex problems, which includes assessment of risk in terms of self-harm, self-neglect, vulnerability, harm to others, domestic violence and safeguarding children.
- To participate in the development and implementation of the specialist teaching/training packages which will be delivered to a range of multi-disciplinary audiences.
- Supervise junior qualified and non-qualified staff in the team, including performance management.
