Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced MRO Specialist Consultant to provide top-level MRO Excellence and transformation support for gas turbine aero-derivative service operations. The role will support the business in moving from issue-led workshop recovery to a more structured, controlled and performance-driven MRO operating model covering strip, clean, build, balance, inspection, test and return-to-service activities.
At a strategic level, the consultant will help define and implement an MRO Excellence framework that improves technical governance, workshop discipline, quality control, competence assurance, component decision-making, test confidence and customer delivery performance. This includes identifying current exposure points, establishing a clear operational baseline, and converting improvement opportunities into practical actions that can be owned and tracked by the senior management team.
The transformation support will cover both technical and business improvement activities. From a technical perspective, the consultant will provide hands-on support to resolve live workshop issues such as balancing consistency, vibration measurement, repeat test rejections, component inspection decisions, build quality concerns and return-to-service readiness. From a business perspective, the consultant will support risk reduction, capability development, performance transparency, customer confidence and future growth of the MRO service offering.
The role will also explain, structure and drive the key transformation workstreams in detail, including the development of robust QA/QC systems, review of training and competence matrices, implementation of formal RCFA methodology, creation of a high-level business threat register, review of GT parts management strategy, assessment of test facility capability, and introduction of tools and dashboards that provide clear visibility of operational performance, risk status and improvement progress.
In detail, this means working closely with workshop teams, engineering, quality, supply chain, senior management and customer-facing functions to strengthen the end-to-end MRO value stream. The consultant will help ensure that technical decisions are evidence-based, component acceptance and rejection decisions are consistent, repeat issues are investigated using structured causal reasoning, and lessons learned are embedded into process controls, training plans and management routines.
