Prati Machine Operator

Job Purpose :
To efficiently set up, and monitor Prati converting/application machinery (such as inspection, slitter-rewinders, an label/leaflet dispensing systems) to meet daily and weekly production goals. The role requires ensuring optimum machine efficiency, minimising downtime, and adhering strictly to quality control and health and safety guidelines.
Roles & Responsibilities
Machine Setup & Calibration:
- Prepare, set up, and adjust Prati machines according to job sheets, technical specifications, and production schedules.
- Load raw materials, substrates, and label rolls safely and accurately into the equipment.
- Operation & Monitoring:
- Run the machinery at optimal speeds, continuously monitoring the production flow to spot errors, web breaks, or misalignments.
- Perform regular quality checks on finished outputs, inspecting for defects, inaccurate cuts, or printing/labeling flaws.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Conduct routine maintenance, minor adjustments, and cleaning of the machine and surrounding work area (good housekeeping).
- Diagnose and troubleshoot basic mechanical or technical faults during operation, escalating complex technical problems to engineering or maintenance teams.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Accurately log production data, output quantities, and downtime metrics into internal tracking systems or shift logs and follow GMP documentation.
- Comply fully with site Health and Safety protocols, wearing required PPE and maintaining a hazard-free workspace.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with packing, quality control, production, engineering staff and management to ensure smooth shift handovers and minimal production disruptions
Person Specification – Prati Machine Operator
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA (demonstrate on application form)
1 Previous experience operating finishing, printing, label-leaflet or converting machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
2 Attention to detail and work ethic is essential
3 Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA (demonstrate on application form)
1 Experience with Prati equipment is an advantage.
