Amore Social Care is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Team Leader to join a children’s residential home.
We are looking for a motivated and experienced individual who can provide strong leadership and support to a dedicated team, while ensuring children and young people receive high-quality, person-centred care in a safe and supportive environment.
The Role
As a Team Leader, you will support the management team with the day-to-day running of the home, providing guidance and supervision to support workers and ensuring that care plans, safeguarding procedures and company policies are followed.
You will play an important role in promoting positive outcomes for children and young people and creating a stable, nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of residential support workers.
- Provide guidance, supervision and mentoring to staff.
- Ensure children and young people receive high-quality, person-centred support.
- Promote positive relationships and encourage independence and personal development.
- Support the implementation and review of care plans and risk assessments.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
- Assist with managing challenging behaviour using appropriate strategies.
- Complete accurate records, reports and handovers.
- Support staff with day-to-day decision-making and problem solving.
- Work closely with the Registered Manager and wider professional network.
- Lead shifts and ensure the home operates safely and effectively.
- Promote a positive, supportive and professional team culture.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or Level 4 in Children and Young People’s Workforce, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Previous experience working within a children’s residential setting.
- Previous experience in a senior or team leader position is desirable.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and the needs of children and young people.
- Experience supporting children and young people with challenging behaviours.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable, professional and committed to providing high-quality care.
- Ability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins as required.
