Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our busy kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment, ensuring smooth operations and high standards of hygiene. Duties
- Washing, peeling, and preparing ingredients for cooking and service
- Cleaning dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils efficiently and thoroughly
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Ensuring all work areas are kept clean, organised, and hygienic in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Supporting the kitchen team during busy periods by managing supplies and stock levels
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures
- Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen appliances and surfaces regularly
- Supporting serving staff when required to ensure smooth service delivery
Requirements
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality environments is advantageous but not essential
- Previous restaurant, hotel, or culinary experience is desirable
- Good organisational skills with an eye for cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to busy periods and varying workload demands
- Willingness to learn new skills within a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations within a kitchen setting
