Here at Pegasus Staff Services, we are looking for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join a long term client on a temporary basis but this could lead to a permanent position.
In this dynamic role, you will oversee daily transportation activities, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of goods. Your proactive approach will coordinate driver schedules, monitor vehicle maintenance, and uphold safety standards across all transportation operations. The client is looking for someone with experience that is open to change and different ways of working. You will be joining a motivated team dedicated to delivering exceptional service and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
JOB INFO:
- Shift pattern will be 0600 to 1400 / 1400 to 2200 on a weekly rota, Monday to Friday.
- Salary will be £35,276 p/a
- Location - Alfreton DE55
- Start date - ASAP but can wait for the right candidate
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support drivers, ensuring adherence to schedules, routes, and safety protocols
- Work alongside the transport / shift managers to support where necessary
- Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Conduct regular inspections of transport equipment and facilities to uphold safety standards
- Manage documentation related to shipments, delivery logs, and incident reports
- Lead training sessions for drivers on safety procedures, company policies, and customer service excellence
- Collaborate with logistics teams to resolve operational issues promptly and efficiently
Experience
- Proven experience in transportation management or logistics supervision
- Strong knowledge of vehicle safety regulations and compliance standards
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Demonstrated leadership ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of drivers and support staff
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, drivers, and external partners
- Ability to analyze operational data to identify areas for process improvement
