PRACTICE MANAGER (30-35h/week)
Employed | Stewart House Orthodontics | Bury St Edmunds |
Salary: £35,000–£39,000 pa | 28 days leave including BH | Pension | Discounted treatment
WHAT YOU ARE WALKING INTO
We are a specialist orthodontic group with four practices and new sites opening within the next two to three months. We need a Practice Manager at Bury St Edmunds who is ready to lead, not just manage. This is not an inbox-clearing role. You will be the operational heartbeat of a busy specialist practice and a genuine voice in how we scale.
We are transparent about where we are: we are building infrastructure to scale, and we need someone who finds that exciting rather than unsettling.
Why now is the right time to join us
We are a four-clinic specialist orthodontic group in active growth — acquiring and opening new sites within the next 2 to 3 months.
The team members we hire now will be first in line as we scale: more clinics, more senior roles, and the rare chance to shape a group from the inside.
This is not a job to maintain something. It is a role to help build something.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Practice operations: diary, staffing, rotas, patient flow, and day-to-day performance
- People leadership: recruitment, inductions, appraisals, payroll, and employee relations
- Financial management: budgets, billing, banking, month-end reporting, and KPIs
- Compliance: NHS contract management, BSA reporting, CQC adherence, and audit readiness
- Growth: referrer relationships, marketing plan delivery, and supporting new site integration
- Governance: GDPR, data protection, risk assessments, and premises management
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN 18 MONTHS
You have a high-performing, stable team. Patient satisfaction is strong. NHS contract performance is consistently met. You are part of the leadership group shaping how we build new sites. The practice feels like yours — because in the ways that matter, it is.
ABOUT YOU
- Proven practice management experience in dental or healthcare — you have done this before
- Strong CQC, NHS contract, and clinical governance knowledge
- A natural people leader — teams trust you and follow your lead
- Financially literate: comfortable with budgets, P&L, and reporting
- Proficient with R4, Exact, or similar practice management software
- CQC Registered Manager status desirable, or actively working towards it
THE OFFER
- £35,000–£39,000 per annum dependent on experience
- 28 days annual leave including bank holidays | Company pension
- Discounted orthodontic and aesthetic treatment
- A leadership role in a growing group — not a maintenance role in a static one
