Role Overview:
This Field Service Engineer position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and support of advanced Life Science instrumentation across London and the South East.
You will work on a range of complex laboratory systems including Flow Cytometry, Cell Analysis, Imaging, Chromatography, Multiplex Analysis, and associated Life Science platforms. The role offers a regional territory with limited overnight stays and no weekend working requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance, servicing, breakdown repair and fault finding on Life Science instrumentation
- Install, commission and validate new laboratory systems at customer sites
- Provide technical support across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, research, academic and healthcare environments
- Diagnose electrical, electronic, mechanical and software-related faults
- Ensure maximum uptime and performance of customer equipment
- Complete service documentation and reports in accordance with company procedures
- Build strong customer relationships and deliver a high level of technical support
- Manage service parts, tools and administrative responsibilities effectively
Person Specification
- Previous Field Service Engineer experience is essential
- Background within Life Science, Diagnostics, Laboratory Equipment, Medical Devices or Scientific Instrumentation preferred
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills across complex electro-mechanical systems
- Excellent customer-facing and communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently across a regional territory
- Flexible approach to travel with occasional overnight stays
- Full UK driving licence
- Military/Forces engineering backgrounds with strong customer-facing experience will also be considered
