Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable Tour Guides who can speak Italian, Spanish, French or German to lead visitors through our attractions and provide engaging, informative experiences. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a passion for sharing history and culture, and a friendly demeanour. This role offers an opportunity to inspire and educate guests while ensuring they have a memorable visit.
Scandic Tours offers walking tours in different cities across Europe and recently also Australia! In London, we currently run six different walking tours every day, three in the East End and three in the West End of the city, as well as a Party Crawl twice a week. All our guides receive training for all six tours, and have the opportunity to also host the Party Crawl.
Duties:
- Lead organised tours for groups of visitors, providing detailed information about the site’s history, architecture, and significance
- Engage with guests by answering questions and facilitating interactive experiences
- Ensure the safety and comfort of all visitors throughout the tour
- Prepare and deliver engaging presentations tailored to diverse audiences
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tour areas before and after visits
- Assist with ticketing, visitor registration, and providing informational materials as needed
Requirements
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Willingness to independently research tour topics
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Passion for history, culture, or local attractions is highly desirable
- Previous experience in guiding or public speaking is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Friendly, approachable manner with a professional appearance
- Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to guided tours
