As a Goods Out Operative, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely dispatch of customer orders. Working both independently and collaboratively, you’ll contribute to maintaining high performance standards in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
This role is ideal for energetic, self-motivated individuals who thrive in structured, hands-on settings. Due to the physical nature of the job, a reasonable level of fitness is required to carry out tasks safely and efficiently.
Salary & Working Hours:
- Salary: £30,000 per annum.
- Hours: 45 hours per week.
- Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, between 12:30 PM and 10:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use handheld scanners to locate and pick items from designated warehouse zones
- Pack and label products accurately, adhering to packaging standards
- Load and unload vans, ensuring items are secure and space is optimized
- Collaborate with team members to meet order deadlines
- Booking in stock from suppliers in to their designated locations
- Booking in returns from customers
- Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and condition of goods
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues
- Follow inventory control procedures and report discrepancies
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a warehouse pick and pack role
- Proficiency with PDA scanners and related technology
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of health and safety protocols
- Adaptability to a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Forklift license is desirable but not essential
- Driving licence for moving vehicles for loading purposes is essential
