The Fludyers Hotel is looking for an organised, confident and guest-focused Hotel Coordinator to support the day-to-day operation of our busy seafront hotel, restaurant and bar.
This is a varied and hands-on hospitality role combining reception, reservations, guest communication and administration with breakfast service, coffee preparation and regular work within the bar and restaurant.
This is not a purely administrative or reception-based position. Due to the 7:00am start, an important part of the role will be supporting the morning operation, including preparing for breakfast, welcoming and serving hotel residents, making coffees, serving food and drinks, clearing tables and assisting the breakfast team. The successful candidate will also be expected to assist within the bar and restaurant throughout the working day as required.
The successful candidate will work closely with the General Manager and management team to ensure guests receive a professional and welcoming experience from their initial booking through to departure.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting the preparation and smooth running of the hotel breakfast service
- Welcoming and serving hotel residents during breakfast
- Taking breakfast orders and serving food and drinks
- Preparing and serving barista-style coffees and other beverages
- Clearing, cleaning, resetting and preparing tables
- Assisting with food and drink service within the bar and restaurant
- Taking customer orders and processing payments
- Supporting the bar and restaurant teams during busy service periods
- Managing hotel reservations, amendments and cancellations
- Responding to telephone, email and online booking enquiries
- Completing guest check-ins and check-outs
- Preparing daily arrival, departure and room allocation information
- Coordinating with housekeeping to ensure rooms are ready on time
- Communicating special requests, accessibility requirements and guest preferences
- Taking accommodation payments and ensuring booking records are accurate
- Handling guest questions, feedback and complaints professionally
- Supporting the management team with general administration
- Updating booking systems, guest information and internal records
- Coordinating communication between reception, housekeeping, the restaurant and the kitchen
- Supporting the wider hotel operation wherever required
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
- Comfortable working in a hands-on hospitality role
- Willing and able to work regularly during breakfast service
- Confident preparing and serving coffees and other drinks
- Comfortable assisting customers in the bar and restaurant
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicating by telephone, email and in person
- Friendly, professional and calm under pressure
- Comfortable balancing administrative duties with food and beverage service
- Able to manage several tasks at the same time
- Reliable and able to use their own initiative
- Confident using computers and booking systems
- Able to work effectively as part of a busy hospitality team
- Passionate about providing excellent customer service
Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, bar, café, reception or similar customer-facing hospitality role is preferred. Barista or coffee-making experience would be beneficial, although training will be provided on our systems and procedures.
