Overview
We are seeking a self employed, dedicated and skilled individual to join our team -specialising in spraying and tree maintenance within existing forestry and woodland creation schemes. This role involves working outdoors to ensure the health and productivity of landscapes through precise application of treatments and comprehensive tree care. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture, landscaping, and environmental maintenance, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality workmanship.
Duties
- Applying pesticides, herbicides, and fertilisers accurately using specialised spraying equipment to maintain healthy landscapes.
- Performing pruning, trimming, and shaping of trees and shrubs to promote growth and visual appeal.
- Re-spacing work within established replanted areas, chainsaw experience and tickets would be advantageous.
- Conducting routine inspections of trees for signs of disease or damage, implementing appropriate treatment plans.
- Ability to work independently and confidently identify good specimens to keep for future harvesting. We are happy to take the time to show you exactly what needs doing initially but there will then be independent decision making required. (No lone working due to safety).
- Operating power tools such as brushcutters and chainsaws, with appropriate tickets.
- Utilising hand tools for planting and general maintenance tasks.
- Ensuring all work areas are kept safe, clean, and organised in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, horticulture or forestry is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge related to power tools.
- Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently.
- NPTC tickets - chainsaw, brushcutter, chipper etc
- Knowledge of plant care techniques including pruning, spraying, and pest control.
- Spraying ticket, or willingness to undertake.
- Strong understanding of horticultural principles and environmental conservation practices.
- Good physical fitness with the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and organisational skills to ensure precise application of treatments and maintenance procedures.

Pay: £15.00-£30.00 per hour
