Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Contracts Manager to oversee multiple domestic and commercial projects.
The Role
The Contracts Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of domestic and commercial landscaping projects, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This is a flexible, home-based role with regular travel to sites, client meetings, and supplier visits. The successful candidate will manage multiple contracts simultaneously and act as the key link between clients, site teams, subcontractors, and the management team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of domestic and commercial landscaping contracts.
- Oversee projects from handover through to completion.
- Plan and programme works to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, safety, and productivity.
- Manage and support site supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and profitability.
- Procure materials and subcontract services as required.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
- Attend client meetings, site meetings, and progress reviews.
- Identify and resolve project issues proactively.
- Prepare project reports, valuations, variations, and progress updates.
- Ensure all projects are delivered to Verde Landscapes' quality standards.
Candidate Requirements Essential
- Proven experience in a Contracts Manager, Project Manager, or Senior Site Manager role.
- Experience managing landscaping, civils, construction, or external works projects.
- Strong commercial awareness and budget management skills.
- Excellent communication and client management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Full UK Driving Licence and vehicle.
- Ability to work independently from home while maintaining regular site presence.
Desirable
- Experience within both domestic and commercial landscaping sectors.
- CSCS Card.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Knowledge of landscaping construction methods, paving, groundworks, planting, irrigation, and outdoor structures.
- Experience preparing valuations and managing project variations.
