Duty Manager – Beach Sports Cafe and Venue

We're looking for an enthusiastic, confident and experienced Duty Manager to join the Yellowave team.
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. One minute you could be leading a busy café team, the next helping deliver a beach volleyball tournament, welcoming school groups, supporting coaches or ensuring every customer leaves having had a brilliant experience.
You'll be someone who enjoys leading from the front, stays calm under pressure and genuinely loves working with people.
What you'll be doing
- Leading and motivating a team during busy shifts.
- Creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers of all ages.
- Overseeing the smooth running of both our sports venue and café.
- Making consistently great coffee and supporting café operations.
- Coordinating bookings, activities and events.
- Supporting coaches, customers and colleagues throughout the day.
- Solving problems quickly and confidently.
- Maintaining high standards of customer service, cleanliness and presentation.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience managing or supervising a team in a fast-paced hospitality, leisure or sports environment.
- Has excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Is organised, proactive and able to prioritise during busy periods.
- Has strong barista skills and enjoys delivering quality coffee.
- Loves working with people and creating memorable customer experiences.
- Is flexible and happy working weekends, evenings and during school holidays.
- Shares our passion for sport, wellbeing and community.
