Job Purpose
The Business Development Manager accelerates Cascade’s sales growth by managing a new business pipeline and existing client or intermediary portfolio with autonomy, pace and commercial judgement.
This is a full-cycle, revenue-carrying sales role. The postholder is responsible for identifying, developing and closing opportunities across IFAs, adviser firms, corporates, charities, professional services firms and private clients. The role requires disciplined pipeline management, strong follow-up, credible communication and consistent delivery against target.
Role Dimensions
The Business Development Manager role is responsible for generating new cash assets under management, progressing opportunities from first contact through to funded business, and developing relationships that create repeat introductions and long-term value.
The role works closely with the Sales Director, Head of Relationships and wider client service team. It requires the ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles, maintain accurate Salesforce records and represent Cascade professionally in a regulated, relationship-led market.
Role Responsibilities
New Business Development
· Identify and secure new business from IFAs, advisers, businesses, charities, professional services firms and private clients.
· Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting, qualification and meeting through to proposal, onboarding and funded business.
· Manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles with discipline and urgency, ensuring that opportunities are not lost through inertia, delays or lack of follow-through.
· Develop and deliver compelling proposals and illustrations that explain Cascade’s value proposition clearly and commercially.
· Engage third-party introducers, adviser networks and professional services firms to generate and convert referrals.
· Manage a portfolio of clients and intermediaries, ensuring they are supported, engaged and achieving strong cash savings outcomes.
· Identify opportunities to grow usage and increase assets under management through existing clients, adviser relationships and new business activity.
· Act as a knowledgeable point of contact on cash savings, interest rates, FSCS protection, account maturities and platform queries.
Pipeline, Process and Reporting
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date Salesforce records for all calls, meetings, tasks, opportunities and client interactions.
· Ensure pipeline stages are realistic, current and supported by clear next actions.
· Maintain appropriate pipeline coverage against monthly target and provide regular forecasts to the Sales Director.
· Meet and exceed KPIs covering revenue, pipeline coverage, activity standards, Salesforce accuracy and client retention.
· Stay current on market trends, rate movements, competitor activity and regulatory requirements.
· Deliver all business development activity at a consistently high professional standard.
Adviser and Intermediary Relationships
· Build and nurture relationships with IFAs, adviser firms, introducers and professional services contacts.
· Understand each partner’s client base, advice process, cash management needs and current referral behaviour.
· Position Cascade as a specialist partner that improves client outcomes, evidences value and removes administrative burden.
· Support repeat engagement by maintaining regular, useful and professional contact with registered and active partners.
· Represent Cascade with credibility, consistency and attention to detail in all external conversations.
Team and Culture
· Contribute actively to a high-performance sales culture by holding yourself to the Cascade Sales Standard.
· Share effective approaches, objection handling techniques and market insights to raise collective capability.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
· Proven track record in B2B sales or business development, with demonstrable success against revenue targets.
· Experience managing a full sales cycle from prospecting through to close.
· Financially literate, with the ability to discuss cash savings, interest rates and FSCS protection credibly.

· Highly organised, with a disciplined approach to pipeline management, CRM use and follow-up.

Desirable Experience
· Experience in financial services, wealth management, cash savings, banking, fintech, professional services or adviser-facing environments.
· Experience using Salesforce or another CRM.
· Experience developing intermediary, introducer or professional referral relationships.
· Understanding of FSCS protection, cash savings, fixed-term deposits, notice accounts or adviser-led client service.
Pay: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
