Your Role
Working as part of the South Manchester Coroner Service you will be involved in the following:
- Clerking Coroners Courts, ensuring all witnesses are present and sworn in (whether in person or virtually).
- Managing the Court rooms audio-visual and recording equipment, including the downloading of Inquest hearings and preparing audio disks when required.
- Completing after Inquest paperwork to allow death certificates to be issued by the Registrars of Birth, Marriages & Deaths.
- Assisting in the management of Juries when required.
- Managing all enquiries post inquest hearing.
- Reception cover
Safe evacuation of premises in the event of an emergency.

- Civica Coroners
- Microsoft Software Suite
Bespoke Audio-visual and recording equipment

Training will be provided for all the necessary duties, so prior experience of working in the Coroners service is not essential. Very smart office wear, including jackets are required in court.
About You
You must be able to liaise appropriately and sensitively with bereaved families during Inquest proceedings, and communicate with relevant parties on behalf of the Coroner.
Working effectively to given deadlines and the ability to manage own workload in conjunction with the rest of the team are also important, as is a good understanding of ICT and the ability to use a variety of software packages.
