An opportunity has arisen for a Communities for Work Plus Mentor to support the delivery of a Welsh Government–funded employability programme aimed at people who are economically inactive or furthest from the labour market. The role focuses on providing intensive, person‑centred support to individuals facing multiple barriers to employment, helping them progress towards work, education or training and improve their overall wellbeing.
Job Purpose
To provide one‑to‑one, tailored mentoring support to participants engaged on the Communities for Work Plus programme, helping them to overcome barriers to employment.- To assess individual needs and work with participants to develop and review action plans that support progression towards employment, education or training.
- To actively engage economically inactive residents through outreach, referrals and partnership working, encouraging sustained participation in the programme.
- To support participants to access appropriate employability, skills, health and wellbeing services through effective referral and signposting.
- To maintain accurate, timely records of engagement, progress and outcomes in line with programme and funding requirements.
- To work collaboratively with colleagues, internal Council services and external partners to support integrated and coordinated service delivery.
- To contribute to the achievement of programme targets and outcomes and support the Council’s wider objectives to reduce economic inactivity.
This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS).
