Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Playgroup Assistant to support early childhood development within our community village hall. The successful candidate will work closely with children, helping to facilitate engaging activities that promote learning, socialisation, and emotional growth. Duties
- Assist in organising and supervising play activities suitable for children aged 2-5 years.
- Support the planning and implementation of educational planning aligned with the EYFS.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, adhering to nursery policies and procedures.
- Foster a nurturing environment that encourages social interaction, creativity, and independence among children.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to provide updates on children's progress and behaviour.
Skills
- Experience or background in childcare, nursery settings, or early childhood education is highly desirable.
- Level 3 or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of Safeguarding.
- Leadership qualities to guide children through structured play while fostering independence.
- Excellent communication skills in English to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating patience and empathy.
- Working knowledge of childcare regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to engage creatively with young children through play-based learning methods.
