You'll teach across a range of academic and vocational programmes, supporting learners to achieve their ambitions and progress to university, apprenticeships and employment.
What you'll do:
- Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Biology and related science programmes
- Teach primarily on A Level Biology, GCSE Biology and BTEC Applied Science programmes
- Support learners to achieve excellent academic outcomes and progress to their chosen destination
- Develop engaging learning resources and practical activities that bring scientific concepts to life
- Monitor learner progress and provide effective feedback and support
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement activities
- Promote safe working practices within laboratory and classroom environments
- Support learners to develop an understanding of careers and opportunities within the science sector
What we're looking for:
- A degree in Biology or a closely related scientific discipline
- A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
- Strong subject knowledge across Biology and wider scientific concepts
- Experience teaching, training or mentoring learners in an educational or workplace setting
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire learners from a range of backgrounds
- A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous professional development
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
