This role sits within a cross‑functional Collaboration Squad, responsible for the run, delivery, and lifecycle management of Microsoft cloud collaboration services. The squad ensures secure, reliable, and user‑centred delivery of M365, Azure‑based services, Teams collaboration capabilities, device management, and automation workflows.
The primary objective is to deliver and continuously improve the enterprise collaboration ecosystem—driving adoption, enhancing user experience, and ensuring compliance and security across all services.
Main Duties:

Azure administration — Manage and maintain Azure services supporting collaboration workloads, including identity, security, and resource governance.

M365 service lifecycle — Operate, optimise, and evolve core Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams.

Microsoft Teams platform ownership — Support Teams configuration, policy management, voice/telephony features, and integration with wider collaboration tools.

Intune device management — Manage Windows and mobile device compliance, configuration profiles, application deployment, and conditional access alignment.

Automation engineering — Develop PowerShell scripts and Power Automate flows to streamline operations, reduce manual effort, and improve service reliability.

Security and compliance — Implement and maintain M365 security controls, conditional access, DLP, and governance policies.

Service optimisation — Monitor service health, analyse usage patterns, and drive improvements to performance, adoption, and user experience.

Customer engagement — Work with service management and business stakeholders to understand needs, resolve issues, and enhance service delivery.

Documentation and knowledge sharing — Produce clear technical documentation, runbooks, and user‑facing guidance.
Typical Routines:

Monitoring M365 and Azure service health and responding to incidents or degradation.

Managing Intune compliance and configuration across Windows and mobile devices.

Reviewing and implementing security updates across collaboration services.

Developing and maintaining automation using PowerShell and Power Automate.

Optimising Teams performance and adoption through analytics and user feedback.

Executing service lifecycle activities such as feature rollouts, policy updates, and platform upgrades.

Participating in agile ceremonies including stand‑ups, retrospectives, and sprint planning.

Engaging with customers and stakeholders to support continuous improvement.
Qualifications (Desired)

Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate

Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate

Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate

CompTIA Security+ or equivalent security certification

ITIL Foundation (beneficial for service‑aligned squads)
Skills & Experience:

Azure administration experience including identity, governance, and security.

Strong M365 expertise across Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.

Intune device management including compliance, configuration, and application deployment.

PowerShell scripting for automation, reporting, and service optimisation.

Power Automate workflow development for process automation.

Understanding of Zero Trust and M365 security

Strong customer service orientation with a focus on user experience.

Excellent troubleshooting skills across cloud collaboration platforms.
Security Clearance Requirement:
Due to the nature of the work that we do at Thales, many of our roles are subject to security restrictions. This role requires Security Clearance (SC). It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment.
To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
