Convenience Store Assistant (Part-Time)
Hours: 12 hours per week
Shifts: Saturday and Sunday, 3pm–9pm
Pay: £12.71 per hour

We’re a small, independent convenience store serving the local community. The role involves a mix of customer service and general shop duties, and you will always be working alongside another member of staff on shift.
This is a permanent position working 12 hours per week across two fixed shifts: Saturday and Sunday, 3pm–9pm.
As we are a small team, you will also be required to provide additional cover for other staff members during holidays when needed. Applicants should therefore have some flexibility to work additional shifts outside their usual Saturday and Sunday hours.
Responsibilities:
- Serving customers and handling cash/card payments on EPOS tills
- Operating the National Lottery terminal and PayPoint (full training provided)
- Restocking shelves and rotating stock correctly
- Checking expiry dates and maintaining product displays
- Keeping the store clean and tidy
- Covering additional staff shifts during holidays when required
Requirements:
- Friendly, honest and dependable
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working in a busy shop environment
- Able to work independently once trained
- Retail experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided
- Must be 18+ due to the sale of age-restricted products
