Job Summary
MBP Door Solutions Southwest & Wales is part of the MBP Group, the UK’s leading independent stockist of doors and a market leading producer of fire doors, doorsets and glazed screens. Based in Newport, we offer joinery solutions for south Wales and the south-West of England.
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods to various locations, using a 10 tonne curtain sided lorry across Wales and South West England, with occasional use of an 18 tonne, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of customer service.
Contracted Hours: 39 hours (Monday – Friday 08:00-17:00)
Reporting to: Production Manager
Key responsibilities and performance measures for this role:
· Check load prior to route, ensuring that you have the necessary paperwork for your load.
· Occasionally assist in unloading at delivery sites.
· Ensure all deliveries are signed for and paperwork is complete.
· To communicate any problems with the Production Manager or customer.
· To be flexible in your approach of overtime requirements to satisfy customer requirements.
· Ensure that your vehicle is well maintained and defects are reported immediately.
· Assist in warehouse duties as and when required when on site
· Ensure that you understand and comply with Health and Safety at Work and Road safety regulations at all times.
· To always present a professional image of oneself, the department and the company.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience required:
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and compliance standards
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and team members
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
Additional skill requirements:
- The role may involve manual handling of stock, candidate should be physically capable of moving and/or lifting stock
- High level of written and verbal communication
