We are looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join our growing engineering team. You'll play a key role in designing, building and maintaining scalable, secure cloud infrastructure while mentoring junior engineers and driving best practices around cloud architecture and automation.
Working closely with Software Engineering, QA and Security teams, you'll contribute to the technical direction of our cloud platform and help deliver reliable, high-performing infrastructure that supports business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure.
- Lead technical design discussions and cloud architecture decisions.
- Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Review infrastructure changes and mentor junior engineers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and platform improvements.
- Troubleshoot production and infrastructure issues, implementing long-term solutions.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployments.
- Champion cloud security, cost optimisation, performance and reliability.
- Monitor system health and drive continuous improvement of observability and alerting.
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- 5+ years' commercial experience in cloud engineering or DevOps roles.
- Strong knowledge of AWS or Azure (multi-cloud experience a plus).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
- Strong understanding of containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid scripting ability (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
- Understanding of networking, security and identity management in cloud environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Desirable
- Relevant cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, etc.).
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch).
- Knowledge of event-driven and serverless architectures.
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical projects.
