Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Electronic Assembly Operator to join our team one on a fixed-term basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling electronic and mechanical components with precision and efficiency. Focused on the manufacture and supply of ultrasonic anemometer and weather station products to the meteorological and commercial weather measurement markets, Gill Instruments, Electronic Assembly Operators play a key role in the manufacture of products to high quality standards using hand tools and assembly jigs.
Main Duties
- Testing to specified test parameters.
- Recording build / test information on works orders / lot cards.
- Rejecting and recording nonconforming product.
- Quality inspection of own work.
- Maintenance of bench stock items.
- Maintenance and inspection of bench top tools and manufacturing aids.
- Use of in-house PC systems.
- Working to standard construction or build times.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical assembly techniques.
- Electrical experience or background in electronics will be advantageous.
- Familiarity with the use of assembly equipment and troubleshooting electrical or mechanical faults.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail to ensure precise assembly work.
- Ability to work efficiently within a team environment while maintaining individual accountability.
- Organised and self-motivated individual with initiative to prioritise.
- Tidy and organized.
- Flexibility.
- Previous experience in manufacturing or electronics assembly is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates. Additional Advantageous Experience
- Previous soldering and wiring experience.
- Previous electromechanical assembly from works instructions.
- PC literate with general numeracy and literacy skills.
- Previous test equipment experience an advantage.
- Manual handling experience.
- Conformance to ISO9001 including, but not limited to, ATEX and CSA procedures.
Salary is £24,800 raising to £25,100 once probation is passed.
