HGV Technician – Colnbrook
A well-established business is looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join their workshop team in Colnbrook on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional and safety-focused operation working across a varied fleet of vehicles.
The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out inspections, servicing, repairs and MOT preparation across a fleet of HGV vehicles, ensuring maximum vehicle availability and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out vehicle inspections, servicing and repairs to manufacturer and DVSA standards
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults
- Prepare vehicles for annual MOT inspections
- Complete all job sheets, reports and service documentation accurately
- Provide roadside assistance when required
- Support and mentor Apprentice Technicians
- Maintain high standards of health & safety and workshop housekeeping
- Work collaboratively within the workshop team to meet deadlines
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds qualification in HGV Maintenance (or equivalent experience)
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience working on hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
- Good understanding of workshop health & safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- HGV Class 2 licence, CPC and tachograph card beneficial but not essential
Working Hours
Average 39.75 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern:
- Week 1: 06:30 – 14:30
- Week 2: 14:00 – 22:00
- Alternate Saturdays: 07:30 – 12:00
