Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is essential in ensuring smooth food service operations and upholding high standards of hygiene and safety. Duties
- Washing, peeling, and preparing ingredients for cooking and service
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to maintain hygiene standards
- Ensuring all areas of the kitchen are kept tidy and organised throughout shifts
- Supporting chefs with stock rotation and storage of ingredients
- Assisting with the disposal of waste and recycling materials appropriately
- Restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
Skills
- Experience or interest in food preparation and cooking is desirable
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of kitchen safety and hygiene standards
