As an Employment & Progression Coach, you'll play a vital role in helping young people across North Hampshire unlock their potential and build positive futures. By sourcing meaningful work experience opportunities and providing tailored support, you'll help young people develop confidence, build workplace skills and prepare for their next steps into education, training or employment.
Working with young people, employers, schools, colleges and support services, you'll support those who are NEET (not in education, employment or training), at risk of becoming NEET, or who have additional support needs. Your work will make a real difference by helping young people overcome barriers, broaden their aspirations and achieve sustainable positive outcomes.
- Source, broker and manage high-quality work experience placements that help young people develop confidence, skills and career readiness.
- Match young people to opportunities that reflect their interests, aspirations and individual support needs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, promoting inclusive work experience opportunities and encouraging employer engagement.
- Help vulnerable and harder-to-reach young people re-engage with learning and employment opportunities.
- Contribute to participation tracking and support the delivery of the September Guarantee, ensuring eligible young people receive a suitable offer.
- Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Experience of sourcing, brokering and matching work experience or employment opportunities, supporting young people from a range of backgrounds.
- Knowledge of post-16 education and employment pathways and the barriers faced by NEET, SEND and care experienced young people.
- Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, resilient and inclusive approach, with a commitment to helping young people achieve positive outcomes.
