Production Supervisor
Key Areas of Responsibility, Duties and Deliverables Expected
Responsibilities
-
Manage machine performance to maximise output by organising tool changes using SMED principles to minimise machine time, labour and scrap.

Utilise the ThingTrax system to monitor and manage production performance.
-
Manage labour utilisation to ensure the correct staffing levels are maintained to achieve production requirements.
-
Monitor labour costs against weekly Finance and Sales KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement.
-
Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed to maintain product quality and production standards.
-
Ensure operators are trained and competent in their roles, maintaining the Skills Matrix accordingly.
-
Escalate quality concerns to the Manufacturing Manager where appropriate.
-
Monitor Internal Firewall PPM performance and implement corrective actions where required.
-
Conduct daily shift start-up meetings to communicate Health & Safety information, production performance, quality issues and business updates.
-
Manage employee performance and conduct in accordance with Company procedures, working alongside the HR department where required.

Review inefficient job running reports and implement actions to improve productivity, reduce waste and improve quality.

Maintain high standards of housekeeping by implementing daily 5S checks and ensuring compliance with Director-led 5S audits.

Ensure production targets are achieved whilst maintaining the required standards of quality, safety and efficiency.

Support the Manufacturing Manager in achieving departmental objectives.

Carry out any other reasonable duties required by the business.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

Report any safety concerns promptly to their Supervisor and take action to prevent injury if it is safe to do so.

Report all injuries that occur at work and obtain the necessary first aid treatment.
