About the Role
A key responsibility is to ensure that the business meets its production/delivery schedule on time and ensure high-quality fabrication and welding requirements meet client specifications first time, every time. As a fully qualified Structural Steelwork Fabricator, the successful candidate will follow all safety precautions whilst working with various structural steel types, such as columns, beams & rafters, including haunches. You will work within one of the 17 fabrication bays, liaising closely with the Material Handler, Quality Assurance Inspectors and your Supervisor to ensure the smooth workflow of the factory operation.
We offer a competitive salary and overtime rate available in the week and Saturday mornings. Working hours are 39-hours over five flexible dayshift patterns. We also offer competitive benefits, company pension, staff events and free onsite parking.
Key Skills, Experience & Attributes
· At least 3 years’ experience fabricating Structural Steel.
· Working knowledge as a qualified MIG Welder.
· Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
· Ability to set up and operate fabricating equipment, such as grinders, drills.
· Ability to set up components for welding according to specifications.
· Experience in handling structural steelwork components, including the use of overhead cranes up to 10TSWL.
· Certified to use 5-10 Tonne Gantry cranes, manual handing and abrasive wheels.
· Able to understand the importance of legal compliance and steel identification tracking.

· Ability to work on own initiative, with an aptitude for solving problems.
