Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Night Shift Plasma Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating plasma cutting equipment during overnight hours to produce high-quality metal components. Your expertise will ensure precise fabrication, adherence to safety standards, and efficient workflow.
Duties
- Set up and operate plasma cutting machines with precision, ensuring accurate cuts on various sheet metal and fabricated components
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine proper machine settings and cutting parameters
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on plasma equipment to maintain optimal performance and safety standards
- Use hand tools, grinding tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to prepare materials for cutting or assembly
- Conduct quality checks on finished parts, verifying dimensions and surface finishes using basic math skills and measurement tools
- Assist in fabrication, grinding, welding, and assembly tasks as needed to support production goals
- Maintain detailed documentation of production activities, machine logs, and quality reports
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes and equipment operation
- Proficiency in using hand tools, tooling, grinders, welders, and sheet metal handling techniques
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality assessments
- Experience with fabrication techniques such as welding, grinding, and assembly is highly desirable
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to plasma cutting, welding, grinding, and general manufacturing environments
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality control during production processes
