About the Role
We are looking for a creative, organised and commercially minded marketing professional with strong social media experience to join our marketing team.
This is a hands-on role supporting the marketing activity across a number of established and growing brands within Pelican Engineering Group, including Pelican Bus + Coach, Pelican Electric Truck, Pelican EV Automotive Training, Pelican EV Charging Solutions, Pelican MAN and Pelican DAF.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of social media and content creation but will also be comfortable supporting wider marketing activity including campaigns, events, trade shows, PR, email marketing and digital communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Social media & content
- Manage and develop day-to-day social media activity across multiple brands
- Create engaging content for LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and other relevant channels
- Develop monthly content plans and manage the social media calendar
- Write compelling copy for social posts, websites, newsletters and marketing materials
- Capture and coordinate photography and video content at events, vehicle handovers, customer visits and company activities
- Identify opportunities to create relevant, timely and engaging content
- Monitor engagement and help grow our online presence
- Track performance and provide regular social media reporting and recommendations.
Marketing Campaigns
- Support the planning and delivery of integrated marketing campaigns.
- Assist with trade press advertising, digital campaigns, email marketing and promotional activity
- Work closely with the Head of Marketing to ensure campaigns are delivered on time and to brand standards
- Coordinate marketing materials and work with designers, agencies and suppliers.
Events & Trade Shows
- Support the planning and delivery of exhibitions, conferences, sponsorships and customer events
- Coordinate marketing collateral, signage, promotional materials and social media activity around events
- Attend selected events and capture content for use across our channels.
PR & Communications
- Support the preparation and distribution of press releases and media content.
- Develop relationships with relevant trade media and identify opportunities for coverage
- Help coordinate customer stories, vehicle deliveries, case studies and company news.
Website & Digital
- Support website content updates across the Group's various websites
- Assist with SEO and digital marketing activity
- Monitor website and campaign performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Support email marketing and database communications.
Brand
- Ensure all marketing activity follows brand guidelines and maintains a consistent, professional image across the Group
- Help manage marketing assets, photography, video and digital files.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Creative and full of ideas, with a strong eye for good content.
- Confident writing social media and marketing copy.
- Experienced in managing professional social media accounts, particularly LinkedIn
- Comfortable creating and editing graphics and video content.
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Commercially aware and able to understand different audiences and markets
- Confident working with internal teams, customers, suppliers, agencies and the media.
- Proactive, hands-on and willing to get involved.
- Able to work independently while being part of a small marketing team.
- Interested in transport, automotive, technology and sustainability would be advantageous.
Experience
- Previous experience in a marketing, social media or communications role
- Experienced in managing and creating content in business social media channels
- Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Strong written communication skills
- Excellent organisational and project management skills

Salary: £35-40k depending on experience
Hours: This is full time role 40 hours per week Monday to Friday
Location: This is an office-based role
