Job Overview
Hunslet Rugby Foundation is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Development Officer to support the delivery and growth of our sports coaching and community engagement programmes.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality sports coaching sessions across schools, clubs, and community settings, supporting participants of all ages and abilities to engage in sport and physical activity.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about community sport, youth development, and creating positive change through coaching. You will work closely with other development staff, schools, and community partners to ensure our programmes are inclusive, engaging, and sustainable.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and support high-quality sports coaching sessions across schools, clubs, and community settings.
- Plan and deliver engaging coaching sessions across a range of sports, tailored to participant needs and programme objectives.
- Support the recruitment, retention, and progression of participants across all programmes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, community groups, and local partners to grow participation in sport and physical activity.
- Assist in the organisation and delivery of sports festivals, events, camps, and matchday/community activities.
- Maintain accurate records of participation, progress, and programme delivery.
- Promote safeguarding, inclusion, and positive behaviour across all sessions and activities.
- Support wider community engagement and promotional work for the Foundation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of coaching delivery through feedback and reflection.
Experience & Skills
- Experience delivering coaching within schools, clubs, or community sport settings (multi-sport experience desirable).
- Relevant coaching qualifications (or willingness to work towards them).
- Strong understanding of participant development and inclusive coaching practices.
- Ability to build positive relationships with young people, schools, and community stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and deliver structured sessions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- Passion for community sport and increasing participation in physical activity.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential due to travel between delivery sites.

Pay: £17,500.00-£20,000.00 per year
