Job description
We currently have a vacancy for a poultry farm worker on our modern Broiler farm here in Suffolk. Ideally the person we are looking for is a team player with a forward thinking attitude. Some previous poultry experience would be a great advantage; but is not essential, as full training will be given. Making this is an ideal role for someone wanting to learn new skills and/or achieve goals within the poultry industry.
This role will involve :
- Maintaining a high standard of welfare and biosecuity on the farm
- Assist with record keeping; including vaccination records, bird welfare and stocking records
- A 6-day work week, potentially including weekends
- Hours based on a 45 hour week
- Being able to work in a team
- Being able to identify areas of improvement and work with collegues and management to implement new strategies to improve performance of the farm.
The successful candidate will :
- Be hands on and have a positive attitude
- Be computer literate
- Have some experience with small farm tractors
- Be enthusiastic, reliable and committed
- Be confident in communicating to others in a polite and respectful manner
- Posses a full driving license
